An interesting article and photograph from the Southgate of 22nd October 1987, of the 40th anniversary celebrations of the 1947 Blackrock Junior County Hurling Champions (from the Con Hannigan archive).
The celebration for the 1947 team, was organised by team member Paddy Madden. Paddy along with Declan Hassett, produced the centenary year publication of the Blackrock Hurling Club (“The Rockies”) in 1984.
