Blackrock Soccer Team, Munster Cup Final in 1945.

The Blackrock Soccer team, which drew with Cork United B, in the Munster Cup Final at the Mardyke in 1945.

Blackrock Soccer Club supplied four full international players to the Irish team at various times. These internationals were goalkeepers Mick McCarthy and Jim Fox Foley, a winger, Timothy Jim O’Keeffe, and centre-half Florrie Burke.

Do you have any memories of the men in this photograph, or indeed of the club itself? Let us know!

This photograph is from the archive of Con Hannigan. Our thanks to Richard T. Cooke.
