Pictured: Blackrock Rovers AFC, winners of the Munster Junior League and Tyler Cup in 1927-28. The club had also won the Junior Cup, defeating Prospect in 1926/27. The club’s pitch may have been behind the present Garda Station.
The most important senior team in Cork at the time was Fordsons, the team based in Fords factory on the Marina. Its pitch was at a field owned by Fords where Pic Du Jer park is built.
