Euro 2020. Predictions for 14th June 2021.

Scotland versus Czech Republic

Group D

Hampden Park, Glasgow. 2:00 pm.

I fancy Scotland this year to get out of their group (either 2nd or a good 3rd place) with home advantage, and a useful team with good players such as Andy Robertson, Kieran Tierney and Scott McTominay.

Verdict. Home advantage to swing for Scotland. Scotland 1 Czech Republic 0.

Poland versus Slovakia.

Group E

Krestovsky Stadium, St. Petersburg. 5:00 pm.

Poland have the reigning FIFA Player of the Year in Bayern Munich forward, Robert Lewandowski. Slovakia, were lucky to qualify for the European Championship, this year having seen them against the Republic of Ireland. I expect Slovakia to be bottom of their group.

Verdict. Poland 2 Slovakia 0.

Spain versus Sweden

Group E

La Cartuja, Seville. 8:00 pm.

This Spanish team is not anywhere near as good as the 2008-2012 team that dominated European and world football, but the squad, particularly with three home matches are still good enough to get out of this group. The Spanish teams in Europe (except for Villarreal) did not have teams that were as good as previous teams. I expect Sweden, to be a solid outfit, who will pick up the points in Group E to get to the Second Round of 16.

Verdict: Spain 2 Sweden 1.
