Breaking Bad. Is it worth a watch?

Breaking Bad is a television series produced by Vince Gilligan that was on air between 2008 and 2013. The show premiered on the channel, AMC Network and it is five seasons long (Season five was released in two parts), and has sixty two episodes. Season one is seven episodes, seasons two, three and four are thirteen episodes, and season five is sixteen episodes (released in two parts of eight episodes each).

Breaking Bad is mainly a crime/family drama, but it combines many genres depending on the scene that is shot. The show has scenes of black comedy, drama, action and tragedy, as well as having influences from the old Western films.

The main strength of Breaking Bad is the story and the writing and the telling of it. Breaking Bad is a very tightly written story, that demands, that the viewer always pays attention to what is going on. Nothing shown in Breaking Bad is filler, each scene contributes to the story of the show.

Each episode of breaking bad runs from forty five minutes to about an hour, and there is so much in most of the episodes that they are worth their own discussion about them.

Another strength of the show is the acting. The characters are well written and are played by good actors adding to the entertainment of the show. The stand outs are Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul as primary protagonists Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. The support characters are very good and each contributes their bit to the story.

Is Breaking Bad worth a watch? Yes it very much is. Five stars.
